The overall teaching was good.

During structure you did subject verb agreement. At the end you had a little something about prepositions. I wasn't sure about the connection there but maybe it was lost in the editing of your video.

You covered the passage well about carnival and the extra information and photos was very good to do.
For the reading strategy of scanning it would have been better to explain a little more what a key word actually is. It was good you had a different passage for this part.


The activities were all connected to reading but very loosely. It would have been much better connecting your scanning strategy with the activities. For example in the second activity it would have been much better to introduce a new appropriate level activity to really test what they have learned about scanning in the reading of a passage. In doing that a reminder of the students to scan for the information would really have made this activity much better. The third activity was a good activity because it involved not just reading but writing also. Still, connect what they are doing to a specific reading strategy. You are doing very well but it would be good to expect more from the students.

Would be good to see you move around the class a little more and use student names.

I like how you thank the class for their attention. Its a nice gesture and reinforces the behavior they should be engaging in. Very pleased to see that.
