Overall Grade : D

There was very little in the way of actual teaching in the video. What was here was for the most part visual. There was very little in the way of kinesthetic teaching. You can not rely on students to learn through visual only.

One of the things you need to do immediately is to make sure students have notebooks for their vocabulary and for their grammar structures. This is where kinesthetic learning takes place. Students should have a written record of their vocabulary and grammar so they can review any time the need arises.

I did not see any communication indicating why students were doing any of the activities they were doing. You need to introduce activities with a reason why students are having to do something.

Your presentation of Sarah's hobbies was adequate at best. Still there was not much video showing what material was actually covered. When presenting vocabulary you should be presenting 15-20 words per week with that age group. If your text book only has a list of 5-6 words you need to supplement that list. At 5-6 words per week the students will be ready for university at the age of 60. They need to be ready at the age of 18.

When handing out materials to students you need to be specific. "I will give you all this one." What is "this one"? As an English teacher you need to be very careful with your words so that students can learn from those words.

"If you finish just wait." This is when you need to make sure you know all about Bloom's. You need to have something ready for early finishers. Give them something challenging to do based on your lesson. They could also review their notebooks which they don't even have.

At that age you NEED to cut out unison reading. Call on individuals to read what is on the screen or in the text book.

At the end you had an activity called "Finding the picture". I saw kids digging through a massive pile of paper that was more worthy of a television game show than a learning activity.

Your classroom management for the most part was non-existent.

There was so much talking in the class that I wondered who was even paying attention to you. Your response was to begin yelling over the talking of the students. This only makes students talk louder. Get the class quiet before you do any teaching. Use phrases like "I am waiting for quiet." Another way is to use an attention grabber. If there is noise from the outside use a microphone and a normal voice. There is no reason to be yelling what you are teaching.

You NEED to be walking around the room. You NEED to take care of talking or other disruptions when they happen and not ignore it.

On your video you posted a message that having kids present something at the front of class was hard to manage so you inspected their work individually. This is a complete admission in failing at classroom management. You are the teacher you are supposed to be able to control your classes and have them do what you want and not give up because they are not listening to your instructions.

While you were giving instructions prior to an activity, there were two students slapping each other right in front of the camera that you were totally oblivious to. As you a teacher you need to have "withitness", you need to be aware of what your students are doing even as you are instructing them.

You took the class outside to where the swimming pool was for an activity. This was one of the dumbest ideas I have ever witnessed from a teacher. It only takes 30 seconds to have a dead student at the bottom of the pool. That would be extremely poor publicity for the school and for MSU. Don't ever do that again in your entire lifetime.

My recommendation would be to immediately have a list of rules for your students and a list of consequences that you need to enforce consistently.
Next you need to avoid standing at the front of the room during the entire class time. You also need a signal for you to get control of the class.

For your lessons the students need notebooks, they need more vocabulary words each week and they need more meaningful activities. The students NEED a chance to synthesize their own information. For example, they could have shared their own hobbies after talking about Sarah's hobbies. Give them opportunity to write their own sentences with the grammar structures. Start incorporating Blooms's higher level questioning in your lessons.
